Practical Biochemistry for undergrad

The course is experiment-oriented and includes selected basic methods in biochemistry, biochemical analysis and molecular methods, gene technology, immunology, and microscopy.

The course includes practical methods in spectrophotometry, enzymology, gel electrophoresis, isolation of biological macromolecules, immunological detection methods, and other important methods in gene technology, for example gene expression. In addition, work with different biological systems will be emphasized.

Organization of the molecular laboratory work and combining the use of different methods for analysis of specific issues will be important. Biosafety in the laboratory environment and academic writing will also be covered. Generally, eight-level courses of the main syllabus are compulsory for this training program.

By the end of the course, learners should be able to understand the concept of:
Part 1 (Theoretical)
Definitions of bioinformatics
OMs and OMICs
Sequencing
Transcriptomics and DNA Microarrays
Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry and Flowcytometry
ChIP-Chip and ChIP-Seq

Part 2  OptionA (Practical)
Laboratory safety and QC
