Researchers, near-graduation and graduate students in the areas of Biological and Medical Sciences
Price
1400 S.R.
Location
iGene Center-Jeddah
The course aims to give participants a basic understanding of molecular technologies and gene expression analysis. The workshop is intended for students, medical technologies, and technician considering mRNA expression analysis using real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR). The participants will experience RNA extraction from cell lines, converting RNA to cDNA, optimizing a qPCR reaction, assessing primers efficiency, and determining the expression level of their genes of interest. Lectures will include an overview of gene expression, assay design and optimization, template preparation, analysis of results, additional applications of real-time PCR technology. Data analysis and simple statistical tests will be included. This workshop offers hands-on training by experts in the field.
By the end of this course, the participants will be able to determine the concept of:
- To give participants a combination of lecture and hands-on laboratory experience using qPCR methods
- To introduce a basic concept of qPCR and the analysis involved
- To promote awareness of the applications of qPCR in research
- To support research in Molecular Medicine
- Medical students
- Medical laboratory technologists and Technician
- Researcher interested in RNA expression analysis
